Le Trouvère is of course Il Trovatore, revised for grand opera in Paris with a translated libretto and an interpolated ballet. After the tradition of singing everything in French at the Opéra faded in the 20th century, Le Trouvère vanished from the repertoire, to be revived at Wexford in 2025. Of interest mainly to completists, this is still a well-conceived rendering of the familiar music with its oddly unfamiliar words.
